Ingredients
1/4 cup chopped salt pork
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 28-ounce can tomatoes, cut up
3/4 cup chili sauce
1/3 cup tomato paste
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon beef-flavored gravy base
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
11/2 pounds fresh or frozen shelled shrimp, cooke, Hot cooked rice
Directions
In large saucepan fry pork till crisp; remove bits of pork.
Cook celery and onion in drippings till tender.
Add tomatoes, chili sauce, tomato paste, garlic, gravy base, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
Stir in shrimp.
Serve over hot cooked rice.
