Jiffy California Walnut Bars Recipe

Ingredients
Butter or margarine -1/2 cup, softened
Powdered sugar - 3 tablespoons
Sifted all-purpose flour - 1 cup
Eggs - 2
All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Walnuts - 1 cup, chopped
Quick-cooking oats - 1/2 cup
Flaked coconut - 1/2 cup
Brown sugar - 1 cup, firmly packed
Vanilla - 1/2 teaspoon
Directions
MAKING
1) In a bowl, combine the butter or margarine and beat till soft and fluffy.
2) Blend in the sugar.
3) Little at a time, add in the flour and mix after each addition till a smooth consistency.
4) Add into a 9-inch square pan and pat down.
5) Place in the oven at 375° F. and bake for 15 minutes.
6) In a mixing bowl, add the eggs and lightly beat.
7) Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt.
8) Mix in the walnuts, oats.
9) Add in the coconut, brown sugar, and vanilla and mix well.
10) Add over the shortbread.
11) Lower oven heat to 325°F and bake for another 25 to 30 minutes.
12) Cool.

13) Cut into lx3-inch bars and serve.
