Jiffy Gingerbread Recipe
Jiffy Gingerbread has a fine taste. Jiffy Gingerbread gets its taste from raisins, milk flour flavored with ginger. Jiffy Gingerbread is cherished by many across the world.
Ingredients
| 3 oz. cooking fat or margarine | ||
| 8 oz. golden syrup or treacle | ||
| Soda bicarbonate | 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| 4 oz. sultanas or raisins | ||
| Sugar | 2 Ounce | |
| 3/4 gill of water or milk | ||
| Flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Flour 1 teaspoon baking | ||
| Powdered ginger | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
Directions
Heat fat, sugar, syrup and water in a large pan until fat has melted.
ALLOW TO COOL.
Sieve flour and all dry ingredients together.
Add to ingredients in saucepan and beat well.
Stir in egg and sultanas.
Pour into 7 inch tin lined with greased greaseproof paper and bake in the centre of a very moderate oven (350°F.€”Gas Mark 3) for approximately 1 hour.
Cool in tin a short time before turning out.
