This jeera rice is a rice dish that I like to make for my parties. A very quick and easy dish to make . The rice simply tastes superb with the aroma of fresh cumin cooked in ghee. Combined with a raita, gravy and poppadums, you can enjoy a complete meal.

Ingredients

 Basmati rice1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Water1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
 Jeera seeds1 Teaspoon
 Salt To Taste
 Ghee1 Tablespoon

Directions

Soak basmati rice for approximately half an hour. Wash and drain. Take a pan and add the ghee to it. Put in the jeera ( cumin seeds ). Let it splutter. Now add the rice and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add the water and cover and cook till done. Serve with chicken curry or spicy vegetable gravy and raita.

I love jeera rice very much. I prepare with Jeera fried in Ghee and souted with onion and bell pepper-Red Yellow and greeen and mix the pre cooked rice and add salt to taste. -It is great

I cook the rice and then do tempering with jeera in ghee. Also, do add some corainder to it. It tastes great.
