Sausage And Shrimp Jambalaya Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb pork sausage
1/2 lb. thick sliced bacon, cut into pieces
3 lg.sliced onions
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 c. minced fresh parsley
2 minced cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp cayenne
1 lb. shelled shrimp
2 c rice
Directions
In a pan fry bacon & sausage,keep stirring it constantly.Drain the meat for oil but not all,reserve some oil.Add onion & bell pepper & cook for good 10 minutes.Thrown in bacon,sausage,parsley,garlic & seasoning,give it a good mix.Cook it for 2 minutes.Arrange shrimps over this but do not stir because we will be making a layered dish.Poor rice(uncooked)over shrimps.Add water,just enough to cook the rice not too much.Do not stir.Cover & cook the rice over low heat for 30 mintues.
Jambalaya has to be dry,remove the cover after 30 minutes,cook it till the water dries down.
Serve hot.
