Jam Crescents Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 quantity risen sweet bread dough | ||
| 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Jam | 4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Work the grated lemon rind evenly into the dough.
Roll out into a circle 1/4 inch thick and approximately 1/2 inches in diameter.
Cut into 8 triangles.
Brush each triangle with melted butter or margarine.
Put a little jam on the outer (short) edge of each triangle and roll up starting at the same edge.
Bend into a crescent shape and tuck the end underneath.
Place well apart on greased baking sheets.
Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
Remove cover and brush with egg wash.
Bake toward the top of a moderately hot oven (375°F) for 15-20 minutes.
Transfer to a cake rack and cool.
