Italian Style Frankfurters Recipe
Ingredients
| 8 oz minced steak | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Ounce | |
| Tomato ketchup | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Beef | 1 | |
| 2 tablespoons German mustard | ||
| Frankfurters | 1 Pound | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Brown minced steak, onion and celery in butter in a heavy based saucepan or flameproof casserole.
Add tomato ketchup, water, beef stock cube and mustard, mix together thoroughly and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Slit frankfurters lengthways, but not quite through.
Barbecue over medium coals for 7-10 minutes, turn frequently while cooking.
When heated through, serve with the meat sauce spooned over them.
