Italian Sausage And Rice Recipe
Ingredients
| Mild italian sausage | 1 pound | |
| Whole tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz), undrained | |
| Tomato Paste | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Italian seasoning | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground red pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 2 medium-size green peppers, coarsely chopped | ||
| Mushrooms | 3 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Hot cooked rice | ||
Directions
Remove casings from sausage.
Cook sausage in a skillet until browned.
Stir to crumble, drain well.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, sugar, and red pepper, and bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in green pepper and mushrooms.
Cover, and simmer 10 minutes.
Serve over hot cooked rice.
