Ingredients

 
1/4 cup farina
 
3/4 cup boiling water
 
1/2 clove garlic, crushed
 
1/2 teaspoon mixed Italian herbs
 
1 tablespoon onion, chopped
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1/2 cilp dark mushrooms, chopped
 
1 pound minced ham
 
1 pound minced veal
 
1 egg, beaten
 
2 slices stale bread Oil

Directions

Stir the farina into the boiling water, and cook and stir about 3 minutes until thick.
Remove from heat, and stir in the next 5 ingredients.
Cool, and mix well with the ham, veal and egg.
Shape into an oval with wet hands, and set on 2 slices of stale bread in a shallow baking pan.
Brush with oil, and bake at 350°F. 1 1/4-1 1/2 hours.
Lift to a hot platter, and serve.
