Three Cheese Italian Lasagna Recipe
Italian Lasagna is a meal in itself and is perfect for a dinner party or a grand family dinner. This tasty dish is my husbands favorite and it doesn’t take too much time to prepare it. Try this excellent Italian Lasagna recipe at home!
Ingredients
1/4 lb. lasagna noodles
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4 lb. ground beef
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
1 1 lb. 4 oz. can tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 lb. ricotta or cottage cheese
1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and rinse with hot water.
Melt butter in large skillet; add onion and garlic and cook slowly for 5 minutes.
Add ground beef; cook until meat loses red color.
Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil and oregano; continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
Place a third of the meat sauce in greased 8-inch square pan.
Cover with alternate layers of a third of the noodles, a third of ricotta cheese and a third of mozzarella cheese.
Place half the remaining meat sauce over mozzarella; cover with alternate layers of half the remaining noodles, half the remaining ricotta cheese and half the remaining mozzarella.
Place remaining meat sauce over mozzarella; cover with alternate layers of remaining noodles, remaining ricotta cheese and remaining mozzarella cheese.
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top; bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
