Italian Tomato Soup Recipe
Ingredients
1 can tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Pinch of cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 quart water
Directions
Simmer all 15 minutes.
Strain.
Mix 2 tablespoons flour and 2 tablespoons butter.
Add slowly to strained tomatoes and bring to boil.
Before serving add 2 or 3 teaspoons Bovril or 3 Oxo cubes.
