Italian Style Salisbury Steaks Recipe
Italian salisbury steak is a skillet cooked beef patties recipe. Prepared with breadcrumbs, it is combined with mushrooms and onions. Topped with a tomato sauce and basil mix, it is baked to delicious perfection.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup water
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4. teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup Italian or Robusto Italian Dressing
2 cups thinly sliced onions
2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
In medium bowl, thoroughly combine ground beef, bread crumbs, water, egg, salt and pepper.
Shape into 4 oval patties, then place in 1 1/2-quart oblong baking pan; set aside.
In medium skillet, heat Italian dressing and cook onions with mushrooms over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until tender.
Stir in tomato sauce and basil.
Spoon tomato mixture over patties and bake 30 minutes or until done.
