Italian Sausage Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients
| 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick | ||
| 1/2 Spanish onion, sliced and separated into rings | ||
| Green pepper | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| 2 tomatoes, peeled and cut into wedges | ||
| Dried oregano | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 6 large French rolls | ||
| Shredded mozzarella cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lettuce | 1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded | |
Directions
Brown sausage over medium heat, and drain well; add onion, green pepper, and tomato.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, about 7 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Remove from heat, and stir in oregano.
Heat rolls according to package directions; split in half, and set aside.
Spoon meat mixture on bottom half of each roll; sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 400° for 2 minutes or until cheese melts.
Top each with lettuce and roll top.
