Ingredients
3-3 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup grated American cheese if desired
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 stick unsalted butter
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (105°-115°F)
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 eggs, beaten
Directions
1 Combine 2 cups flour, cheeses, salt, and pepper in large mixing bowl. Heat butter and milk to warm (105°-115°F).
2 Dissolve yeast in warm water. Set aside for 5 minutes.
3 Add milk mixture, yeast mixture, oil, and eggs to flour and cheese. Mix thoroughly.
4 Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth.
5 Place in greased bowl, turning to coat top. Cover; let rise in warm place until double€”about 1 1/2 hours.
6 Punch down dough. Make loaf and place in a greased 9 x 5-inch pan.
7 Cover; let rise in warm place until double€”about 45 minutes.
8 Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for about 40 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack.
