Island Sweet Sour Pork Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 1/2 pounds boneless pork shoulder, cut in small cubes | ||
| Salad oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pineapple tidbits | 1 8 3/4 Ounce | |
| Bottled barbecue sauce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips | ||
| Hot cooked rice | ||
Directions
In skillet, brown meat in hot oil.
Season with salt and dash pepper.
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup.
Add water to syrup to make 3/4 cup.
Stir syrup and barbecue sauce into browned meat.
Cover and simmer 40 to 45 minutes or till tender.
Blend cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water; stir into meat.
Cook and stir till thickened.
Add pineapple and green pepper; heat through.
