Irish Stew Recipe
Irish Stew has a very fine taste. The mixture of cornflour with milk and sugar gives the Irish Stew a royal taste.
Ingredients
500 gms leg of mutton cut into 1 cubes
1 stick cinnamon broken in pieces
6 peppercorns
8 pieces thinly sliced ginger
1 stick celery cut into 1" pieces
100 gms skinned button onions
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp butter
1 cup of 1/4 thickly peeled and sliced
potatoes
1/2 cup of 1/4 thickly sliced carrots
1/2 cup of 1/4 thickly peeled and sliced turnips
1/2 cup diced french beans
1/2 cup shelled green peas
2 cups water
Salt
2 tbsp cornflour
1 cup milk
1 tsp sugar
Directions
Microwave the mutton in a covered dish with cinnamon, peppercorns, ginger, celery, onions and bay leaf for 10 minutes stirring once in between.
Stir in all the other ingredients upto salt, and microwave on 70% power for 30 minutes or until mutton is tender, stirring in between two or times.
Let it stand for 5 minutes.
Mix cornflour with milk and sugar and stir it into the mutton mixture.
Microwave for 10 minutes at 50% power stirring in between several times so that the mixture does not get lumpy.
This process can be done on a stove also.
