| All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablespoon chilled butter or stick margarine, cut into small pieces | ||
| 3 tablespoons low-fat buttermilk | ||
| Butter-flavored cooking spray | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 425° F
MAKING
2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powdre, sugar, baking soda and salt
3. Cut in te butter with a pastry cutter until the consistency of a coarse mela is achieved
4. Add the buttermilk and stir till just moist
5. Dust a work surface with flour and turn the dough onto it and knead it at least ten times; shape into a 3" ball
6. Place it on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray and make a 0.25" deep "X" on top with a sharp knife
7. Spray some cooking spray on top of the dough and bake for eight minutes or so until golden
SERVING
8. Serve as appriopriate
