Ingredients

3 cups all purpose flour

1 level tsp. salt

1 heaping tsp. baking soda

1-2 cups buttermilk

Directions

Mix flour, soda and salt together in a bowl.
Gradually stir in enough buttermilk so it is of a dough consistency.
On a floured board, put 1 tbsp. of the mixture and roll around.
Pat it down into a scone shape about 1" thick.
Continue with rest of mixture.
Lightly flour bottom of an electric frypan which has been turned on to 340°.
Brown the flour and put four scones into frypan at a time.
Brown for 10 minutes.
Test each scone by patting the top to feel if they are becoming firm.
Turn them over and cook for 5 mins.
Eat them hot with Fleischmann's Margarine and jam, or let them cool, slice in half and make an "Irish Fry" by frying them in bacon fat when you are cooking bacon and eggs.
You could also slice them in half and brown them in a pop up toaster.
