Iowa Corn Chowder Recipe
Ingredients
| Salt pork | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |

| Green pepper | 1/2 To taste, diced | |
| Potatoes | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bay leaf | 1 | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light cream | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups fresh corn cut from cob | ||
Directions
Brown salt pork in heavy saucepan.
Add onion; cook for 2 minutes.
Add next 6 ingredients.
Simmer until potatoes are tender.
Mix flour with a little milk; add with remaining milk to potato mixture.
Heat until thickened.
Add cream and corn.
Heat gently.
Add onion; cook for 2 minutes.
