Indonesian Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients
| Potatoes | 1 Pound | |
| Butter | 1 Ounce | |
| Onion | 1 Small | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm) | |
| Minced | 1 Pound | |
| Salt | 11/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Scallions spring | 4 | |
| Eggs | 2 Small | |
| Separated oil for deep frying | ||
Directions
Cook, drain, and mash potatoes.
Melt butter in frying pan.
Add finely chopped onion and crushed garlic.
Simmer 3 to 4 minutes, then add minced steak, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Cook, stirring constantly.
When meat is half-cooked, add finely chopped spring onions, including green tops.
Remove from heat when meat is cooked.
In a bowl combine mashed potatoes with meat mixture and egg-yolks.
Form mixture into small balls.
Refrigerate 1 hour to firm.
Beat egg-whites very lightly with fork in small bowl.
Dip meat balls one at a time in egg-whites.
Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown.
These can be prepared in advance and reheated for 10 minutes in moderate oven.
