Imperial Frosting Recipe
Imperial Frosting is a better mood elevator than a bar of chocolate! Best enjoyed as a Dessert this recipe was taught to me by a dear friend who also happens to be a great chef. Was it you or the fragrance of Imperial Frosting that you are cooking that has dragged me to the kitchen?, were my husband's words.
Ingredients
4 cups Powdered Sugar, divided
5 tablespoons shortening
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon coconut-flavored extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 to 6 tablespoons milk
Directions
Cream 1 cup powdered sugar, shortening, extracts and salt.
Add milk alternately with remaining 3 cups powdered sugar.
Mix until creamy.
Add more powdered sugar or milk, if necessary, to make spreading consistency.
