Skinless urad dal-1 cup
Water- as necessary
Baking powder-1/2 teaspoon
Sugar-4 cups
Green cardamom powder-1/2 teaspoon
Kewra essence -4 drops
Ghee- to fry
Directions
GETTING READY
1)In a bowl, soak dal in water for about 2 hours.
2)Then, add baking powder and grind into thick batter.
3)In a pan, add sugar and water and make syrup with single thread consistency. When it is about to be ready add kewra essence and cardamom powder.
MAKING
4)Take a clean thick cloth of about 9 inch/23cm square and make a hole in the centre.
5)Damp the cloth and pour 1/8 batter into it. Fold it to make a bundle and hold tight.
6)In a shallow frying pan, heat ghee and squeeze batter into it forming flower like shapes.
7)Fry until dark golden and strain. Put into syrup.
8)Leave them for 5-10 minutes to soak. Drain.
SERVNG
9)Serve the imartis hot.
