Dates may be the oldest tree crop cultivated by man. More that 5,000 years ago this valuable food plant helped sustain desert peoples and nomadic wanderers of the Middle East and North Africa. Dates were also considered a delicacy and served by royalty. Dates are also rich in iron which is important for children and adults alike. Shanti/Mary-Anne

Fruit chat also tastes great with some amchoor powder sprinkled on it. You can also top it with a dollop of whipped cream. Kids will love it this way! Dates are great to break a fast. They have been a staple food of the Middle East for ages now. They also have a great nutritional value. They are high in dietary fiber and low in cholesterol. Also they are said to have more potassium than bananas!
