Icicle Pickles Recipe
Ingredients
| Cucumbers | 7 Pound | |
| 1 c. slaked lime | ||
| Vinegar | 2 Quart | |
| Sugar | 4 Pound | |
| Spice | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Slice cucumbers into finger-sized strips; remove seeds.
Mix lime with 1 gallon water in crock.
Add cucumbers; stir well.
Let stand for 24 hours; drain.
Wash until water is clear; drain thoroughly.
Combine vinegar, sugar and pickling spice in large kettle; add cucumbers.
Let stand for 7.
hours.
Bring to a boil; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until cu- cumbers are transparent.
Put in hot sterilized jars; seal.
