Icicle Pickles Recipe
Ingredients
12 or so medium cucumbers
POUR:
1 quart white wine vinegar
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup salt
Directions
Peel and remove seeds.
Cut in finger lengths.
Let stand in frigidaire overnight (or in a very cool place) covered with cold water.
In the morning pack in jars, add strip of green pepper and small slice of onion to each jar, and pour over the ingredients.
Boil five minutes; when cool add 1 dessertspoon powdered alum.
