Ingredients

 
Red fish
 
Red onions
 
Ginger
 
Garlic
 
Green chillies
 
Curry leaves
 
Coconut milk
 
Star fruits (soaked in water)
 
Green leaves
 
Salt

Directions

Take a clay pot and pour coconut oil.
Add red onions and saute well.
Add curry leaves and green chillies.
Add chopped garlic and saute for sometime.
Add chopped ginger. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, red chilli powder. Saute well.
Add coconut milk and boil for sometime. Add 3-4 pieces of star fruit and salt to taste.
Add fish and cook for 10 minutes.
Your fish curry is ready and put in a serving bowl. Garnish it with green leaves.
Enjoy with boiled tapioca, rice or any dish of your choice.

It is great when you want to eat fish curry and have little time to prepare. Unlike the traditional one, it doesn’t involve any roasting or grinding or shredding coconuts. This is also a healthier version of the other Meen Curries of Kerala which involve frying the fish before adding it to the coconut curry.
