Apple-Cider Barbecue Sauce Recipe Video
Here is another recipe for barbecue sauce. This one is ketchup based and has apple juice. You will never want to use store bought barbecue sauce after you make this one! It is really, really good.
Ingredients
| Apple juice | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Cider vinegar | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Granulated sugar | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Paprika | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Prepared horseradish | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Mustard | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Molasses | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Ketchup | 4 Cup (64 tbs) | |
| Garlic powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | To Taste |
Directions
Place all ingredients except for ketchup, salt and pepper in a heavy pan. Whisk until well blended. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the ketchup and mix well. Season with salt & pepper. Bring to a soft simmer and cook,stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and turns dark – like bottled sauce.
If preserving for gifts, heat jars per instructions and fill with sauce. If not, cool down completely and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
