House Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 pound dried navy beans
 
7 or 8 cups water
 
1 pound smoked ham hocks
 
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

Soak beans in water overnight in the slow cooker.
Do not drain.
Cover and cook on high about 3 hours, until tender.
Add ham and seasonings.
Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours.
Remove ham, chop meat, and return it to soup.
Add more water if you wish, and adjust seasonings.
Serve hot for lunch.
