Hot Won-Ton Soup Recipe
I am in love with this Hot Won-ton Soup recipe as it brings such rave comments everytime I make it. Seems like Chinese food never lets you down. This recipe of Hot Won-ton Soup is one such example. It is a great Side Dish. I am sure you and I will approve that this Hot Won-ton Soup is really delicious.
Ingredients
For Won-Ton Skin
1 tbsp. oil
6 tsps. water
1 cup flour
For Filling:-
2 cups spinach, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 tbsps. oil for frying
For Soup:-
8 cups stock or water
6 snow peas (gavar fali)
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsps. wine
2 tsps. salt
1 tsp. chilli sauce
Directions
Make won-ton skins by sieving flour in a bowl.
Mix oil and water and knead well.
Make a stiff dough and cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough till paper thin and cut into 3" x 3" squares for won-ton skin.
Heat the oil and fry garlic and onion.
Add spinach, pepper and salt.
Cook on a slow fire, adding a little water if required.
When the spinach is cooked and water dried up, remove from fire.
Put 1/2 teaspoon filling in each skin and fold the opposite corners together.
Seal by applying a little water to the edges and pinching together firmly.
Fold the other corners in the same way.
Cook won-tons in boiling water for 15 minutes and remove them in a bowl.
Boil the stock, adding all the seasoning and before removing add the won-ton and let it boil for a minute.
Garnish with snow peas and sprinkle chilli sauce before serving.
VARIATION:
Cantonese Chicken Won-Ton Soup: Use minced chicken or lamb meat for filling of won-tons.
Follow rest of the recipe as given above.
