Hot Quail Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Quail | 3 Medium | |
| Onion | 1 Small, chopped | |
| Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Hot sauce to taste | ||
| 1 tsp. bottled browning sauce | ||
| 1 c. cooked diced carrots | ||
| Green peas | 1 Small, drained | |
| 1 recipe buttermilk biscuits | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Cook quail in 4 cups water with salt and pepper until tender.
Drain; reserve liquid.
Remove quail from bones; place in reserved liquid.
Saute onion in marga- rine until tender.
Add flour; stir well.
Add quail mix- ture, hot sauce and browning sauce; cook over low heat until thickened.
Add carrots and peas; pour into deep baking dish.
Place biscuits on top.
Bake in 375-degree oven for about 30 minutes; serve hot.
