Hot Mulled Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| Water | 1 Quart | |
| Angostura bitters | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Whole cloves | 8 | |
| Whole allspice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Powdered nutmeg | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Powdered ginger | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 2 Inch (2 1" sticks) | |
| Sugar | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Raisins | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Blanched almonds | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Dry red table wine | 2 Bottle (2 l) |
Directions
Combine all ingredients except wine and optional cinnamon sticks in large saucepan.
Bring to a boil, turn down heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Strain.
Put liquid back in pan and bring back to boiling.
Stir in wine and bring slowly back to just below the boiling point.
Do not boil.
Pour into a punch bowl that has been heated with hot water.
Serve in mugs with cinnamon stick muddlers.
