Hot Fudge Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup water
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup oil
3 heaping tablespoons cocoa or carob powder
3/4 cup barley flour
1 3/4 cups rye flour
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Fudge Frosting
Nuts (optional)
Miniature marshmallows (optional)

How to make Hot Fudge Cake

Combine water, butter or margarine, oil, and cocoa or carob powder in small saucepan.
Bring to a boil.
Let cool.
In Bosch bowl, combine barley and rye flours.
Add brown sugar, baking soda, and cinnamon.
Pour cooled cocoa mixture over the dry ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla, and mix thoroughly.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan, and bake in a 400° F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until cake tests done.
Spoon hot Fudge Frosting over warm cake.
If desired, sprinkle with nuts and/or miniature marshmallows.
