Fruity Hot Cross Buns Recipe

| Milk | 1⁄2 Pint, lukewarm | |
| Chopped candied peel | 2 Ounce | |
| Butter | 2 Ounce | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Cake yeast | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 2 Ounce |

Directions
Cream yeast and sugar with a little of the milk.
Add the rest of the milk and stir yeast mixture into a well in the centre of the flour.
Mix well and then knead until smooth.
Cover and leave in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
Knead again.
Shape into buns and place on a greased baking sheet.
Mark crosses on top.
Leave to prove for 15 mins.
and bake at 425° F for 15-20 minutes.
