Hot Water Crust Pastry Recipe
Ingredients
| 75g/3 oz margarine | ||
| 150 ml/1/4 pint water | ||
| 175g/10 oz plain flour | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg yolk | 1 | |
Directions
Heat the margarine and water together in a saucepan until the margarine has melted, then bring rapidly to the boil.
Place the remaining ingredients in the bowl and pour the hot liquid through the feed tube.
Mix to a dough, using the double-bladed chopping knife.
Turn out onto a floured board and knead lightly until smooth.
Leave to rest in a polythene bag for 30 minutes.
Use as required.
