Hot Mulled Wine Recipe

Here comes the recipe of my all time favorite Hot Mulled Wine. This Hot Mulled Wine recipe is one of the best I have tried so far. Give it a try!

Ingredients

 
2 cups sugar
 
2 cups water
 
4 cinnamon sticks
 
18 whole allspice
 
18 whole cloves
 
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 
Peel of 1 lemon
 
2 bottles (4/5-quart) Burgundy or claret

Directions

In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and spices.
Heat until the sugar is dissolved.
Drop in the lemon peel and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, and let stand for 30 minutes.
Strain to remove the spices.
Combine syrup and wine in crock cooker and cover.
Heat at Low for 2 hours.
