Ingredients

 12 slices white bread, from a large loaf
 Butter3 Ounce, softened
 4 tbsps. ginger marmalade
 Caster sugar1 Tablespoon (Leveled)
 1 eeg
 Milk1/2 Pint
 Butter/Margarine1 Ounce (To complete dish from freezer)
 1 oz. Demerara sugar

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2) Cut off the crusts from the bread.

MAKING
3) Coat the bread slices lavishly with butter and then with marmalade. Make 6 sandwiches from the slices and cut each into 4 pieces.
4) Take a rectangular ovenproof dish (approx 9 inch X 5 inch) and arrange the sandwich pieces in it. The pieces may overlap.
5) Now, drizzle caster sugar over them. In a clean bowl, beat together, egg and milk and spread over the sandwich layer.
6) Place the dish in preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in it, comes out clean.

SERVING
7) Serve warm.
