Hot Hero Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 loaf French bread, about 24 inches long | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
| Thousand island dressing | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Thinly sliced onion | 1/2 Small, separated into rings | |
| 1 green pepper, thinly sliced into rings | ||
| Salami | 4 Ounce, thinly sliced | |
| Bologna | 4 Ounce, thinly sliced | |
| 2 oz. cooked turkey breast, thinly sliced | ||
| Alfalfa sprouts | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Swiss Cheese package | 1 | |
Directions
Preheat grill for 10 minutes.
Slice bread in half lengthwise.
Brush cut sides with butter.
Grill, cut-side down, at MEDIUM with hood open until bread is toasted, 1 to 2 minutes.
Remove from grill.
Reduce heat to LOW.
Spread one half of bread with dressing.
Layer with remaining ingredients.
Top with other half of bread.
Wrap in 30 x 18-inch sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Grill at LOW with hood closed until cheese melts and sandwich is heated through, 8 to 12 minutes.
