Hot Herb Bread Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup (1/2 lb.) butter or margarine, at room temperature
3/4 cup minced chives (fresh, frozen, or freeze dried)
3/4 cup lightly packed minced parsley
1 tablespoon dry basil
2 loaves (1 lb. each) French bread, split lengthwise
Directions
Cream butter with chives, parsley, and basil.
Spread on bread halves and reassemble loaves.
Wrap each tightly in heavy-duty foil and place on grill 4 to 6 inches above a solid bed of low-glowing coals for about 10 minutes.
Cut into 2-inch-wide slices.
