Hot Bean Salad Recipe
Hot bean salad is a kidney bean and vegetable salad made with celery and green onions. Flavored with sharp cheese and mayonnaise, the hot bean salad is a baked salad topped with cracker crumbs.
Ingredients
1 16-ounce can kidney beans, drained
1 cup thinly sliced celery ounces sharp process American cheese, diced (3/4 cup)
1/3 cup chopped sweet pickle
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion
1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/3 cup finely crushed rich round cracker crumbs
Directions
Combine first 6 ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt; toss.
Spoon into four 8-ounce bakers or six 5-ounce custard cups.
Top with crumbs.
Bake in very hot oven (450°) for 10 minutes or till bubbly.
