Horseradish Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| All purpose flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Prepared horseradish | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bouillon cube | 1 | |
| Boiling water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup commercial sour cream | ||
Directions
Melt butter or margarine.
Blend in flour, salt, sugar, lemon juice and horseradish.
Dissolve bouillon cube in boiling water, and add to sauce.
Cook, stirring, over medium heat until thickened.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Remove from heat, and allow to cool 3 minutes.
Stir in sour cream.
Makes 1 cup.
Note: Serve with beef, tongue, steak, veal or meat loaf; it is a very smooth sauce but with a tang.
