Horseradish Cheese Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 unsliced loaf Italian, French, or sourdough bread | ||
| Prepared horseradish | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/8 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce | ||
| Salt | 1 Dash | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
| Half and Half | 1 8 Ounce | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°.
Cut up butter or margarine and place in oven-proof bowl.
Set in preheating oven about 4 minutes just to soften; transfer to another mixing bowl.
Meanwhile, slice bread into 17 or 18 slices, cutting to but not through bottom crust.
Cream together softened butter or margarine, horseradish, lemon juice, hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper.
Spread lightly on all cut surfaces of the bread.
Place a triangle of cheese in every cut of bread, using quarter slices of cheese in the end cuts, if necessary.
Wrap the filled loaf in foil.
Bake in 400° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or till cheese is melted and loaf is heated through.
