Horiatiki Salata - The Greek Village Salad Recipe
Horiatiki Insalata, is a Greek salad or the Greek Village salad which can be easily made from your home grown vegetables. The salad depends a lot on the ripeness factor of the vegetables, more the vegetables are ripe, juicy and fresh the better the appearance and taste of the salad. Feta cheese gives the salad character, its salty taste and creamy feel makes this salad a daily must have.

Ingredients
| Tomatoes - 3 or 4, seeded and diced | ||
| Cucumber | 1 , peeled | |
| Red onion | 1 | |
| Kalamata olives | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Feta cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), crumbled | |
| Olive oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Red wine vinegar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm) | |
| Oregano | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Pepper | 1 To taste | |
Directions
MAKING
1. In a salad mixing bowl, add diced tomatoes, cubed cucumbers, sliced red onions, Olives, feta cheese and toss together.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.
FINALISING
3. Pour the dressing into the salad mixing bowl with the vegetables and toss together and set aside in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
SERVING
4. Serve cold in a nice salad dish.
