Hopei Diced Meat Recipe

Ingredients
| Meat | 1 Kilogram, boiled | |
| Tomatoes | 500 Gram | |
| Onions | 2 Large, chopped | |
| Ginger | 1 inch, grated | |
| Garlic | 4 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Dry sherry | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 3 tbsps. soya sauce | ||
| Water or chicken broth | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 tsp. chilli sauce or tabasco | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Peanut oil | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup chilli-garlic sauce | ||
Directions
Cut the tomatoes into quarters and remove seeds.
Add half the sugar, mash well and simmer until reduced to a puree.
Strain.
Heat the oil and deep fry the meat cubes.
Drain and set aside.
In the remaining oil, saute onions, garlic and ginger.
Add sherry, soya sauce and remaining sugar.
Pour in the broth and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the meat cubes and tomato puree and let it simmer for a further 5 minutes.
Add the cornflour mixture and stir well for 3 minutes.
Add chilli sauce, salt and mix well.
Remove from heat, sprinkle chilli-garlic sauce and serve.
