Honey Flake Cookies Recipe

The all time favorite honey flake cookies are healthy mid-noon pick. Savor the goodness of honey and nuts filled in this cookie!

Ingredients

 
2 cups bran flakes
 
1 tblspn, honey
 
1 level tspn. Bi-carb.
 
3/4-cup brown sugar
 
1/2 -cup butter
 
1/4-tspn.salt
 
1 cup sifted flour
 
2 tblspns, hot water
 
1/2 -cup chopped nuts
 
1 level tspn, baking
 
powder

Directions

Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
Add slightly crushed bran flakes, chopped nuts and sugar; stir well.
Melt butter and honey, dissolve Bi-carb.
in hot water and add to butter and honey.
Stir into dry ingredients and mix well.
Mixture will be very crumbly.
Take large tea- spoonsful and shape into rounds on awell- greased scone sheet.
Decorate with nut or cherry, as desired.
Bake in a moderate oven (375° F) for 12 - 15 minutes.
Leave in tin until cold.
Yields about 34 biscuits.
