Honey Cookies Recipe
A cup of evening tea or coffee is not as enjoyable without these Honey Cookies. Try out this recipe and enjoy your evening tea as never before!
Ingredients
Shortening - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Honey - 1/2 cup
Egg - 1
Nuts - 1/2 cup, chopped
Sifted flour - 2 1/2 cups
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
Soda - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Directions
MAKING
1) In a bowl, combine and cream the shortening, sugar, and honey till light and fluffy.
2) Stir in the egg.
3) Add in the nuts and mix well.
4) Combine and sift the flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
5) Add into the honey mix and blend well.
6) Divide the dough into half.
7) Shape each half into a long roll.
8) Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
9) Cut into 1/8-inch thick slices.
10) Arrange the slices on an ungreased baking sheet.
11) Place in the oven at 400° F and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
SERVING
12) Drizzle with honey and lightly dust with cinnamon.
