Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven to temperature of 350 degrees.
2) Grease a square cake tin of 7-inches and line its bottom with non-stick parchment or greased greaseproof paper.

MAKING
3) Into a bowl, sift the dry ingredients. Add all the remaining ingredients, except for the nuts, and beat well to mix thoroughly.
4) Into the prepared tin, spoon the mixture. Smooth the top and sprinkle chopped nuts on top, if preferred.
5) In the preheated oven, bake the preparation for about 30 minutes, till firm to touch.
6) Turn the cake out onto a wire rack and take off the paper lining.
7) Let the cake cool and then cut it into 9 squares.
8) If you want to freeze the squares for future use, flash freeze them first till firm and then pack in a rigid container. Separate each layer with foil. Seal, label and store in the freezer.

SERVING
9) If you wish to serve the Honey Squares without freezing, place them on a decorative serving platter and serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. If using frozen cake squares, first thaw them at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours and then serve.
