Honey Date Sticks Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 c. finely cut pitted dates | ||
| Walnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| 1/4 c. melted fat or salad oil | ||
| Honey | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Powdered sugar | ||
Directions
Sift together first three ingredients.
Add dates and walnuts, and blend.
Beat eggs with hand or electric beater until thick and lemon-colored.
Add fat and honey, and blend well.
Add flour mixture, and stir smooth.
Pour into greased or oiled pan about 12" x 8" x 1".
Bake in moderate oven of 350°F for 45 min., or until firm and brown.
Cool slightly; then cut into sticks 1" x 3 2/3".
Remove with a spatula; roll in powdered sugar.
