1. In a saucepan, mix sugar, butter, honey and heat until mixture is smooth.
2. In a bowl, mix puffed rice and chopped dates, add the butter and honey warm mixture and mix well until blended.
3. Into a greased 8-inch square pan, pour the rice and date mixture evenly.
4. Chill in refrigerator, until set. Cut into 2-inch bars.
5. Serve cold.
