Honey Bread Recipe
This is how I show my love to my near and dear ones, yes by preparing their favorite honey bread using this recipe. This honey bread when served as side dish is sure to please your family members. Have faith in me and try this honey bread.
Ingredients
2 cups sifted self-rising flour or 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted with 2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 cup chopped candied peel
4 1/2 tablespoons thick honey
1 small egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk
Directions
Grease and line a large 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and rub in the fat until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the peel and honey followed by the beaten egg and milk, then beat well.
Place the mixture in the prepared pan.
Bake in the center of a moderate oven (350°F) for about 1 hour.
Leave in the pan to cool, before turning out to slice and spread wit'h butter.
