Honey Apple Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Shortening | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Milk | ||
| 6 cooking apples | ||
| Pineapple juice | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Honey | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Sift flour and salt into a bowl.
Cut in the shortening.
Add milk and stir until pastry holds together.
Roll into a 10x20-inch rectangle.
Cut into 8 5-inch squares.
Peel and dice apples onto the centres of squares.
Drizzle each mound with honey, sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.
Fold corners to centre and pinch edges together.
Prick with a fork.
Arrange dumplings in a large greased baking dish.
Mix the remaining ingredients together and cook over low heat until thickened.
Pour over dumplings and bake at 375F for 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are tender and pastry browned.
